Hi All,

We've got a set of 16x6 split rims fitted with light truck tyres (ok condition) kicking around taking up space. Not sure whether to try to sell or just throw away. Are they worth anything???

Melissa.

Put them in the Quockka, you would be surprised how much interest you will get, even if you have to advertise them a couple of times, what the hell, it's free advertising. Depending upon the tread $30 -$50 each is not a bad price, you can always come down. Throw them to the tip and you get nothing :)

Regards

Thanks Janset,

You echoed my own thoughts although I had no idea of price. I hate the idea of throwing something away that is still has some useful life left.

G'day Melissa, why throw away the best rims you can have, all this ranting and raving about wide wheels and fancy tyres is all down to advertising,,I've been working in open cut mines for years, in harsh conditions and do you ever see our 4x4's with flash wheels and tyres, no, just the hard wearing grippers and splits, I do get a few laughs here....

Melissa, are you sure of the size exactly? What are they from? 16x6 is not a common size. I think you mean 16x5.5, which is the common split rim found on most Navara',Patrols and cruiser's etc.
cheers.

Desert,

You are probably right. I think they are LC rims.

Not sure where you're residing but most trailer manufacturers should be interested. I know my guy pays $45 for his normal car rims & tyres so there's a good starting price. Much better than throwing them away

Thanks Allyn,

I'm in Mandurah, WA. By the way, they actually came off a campertrailer in the first place.

Papas Trailers or Polmac Trailers then.
Quokka was a good idea too.
Find someone going Gibb River way perhaps (I paid $284 for a Desert Dueller 7.5R16 last year).
Swap ya a feed of muddies for some Bluey's !!!

Allyn,

Your talking to an ex-north Qlder. What I wouldn't give for a feed of muddies. The blueys are just too fiddly...not enough meat on 'em.
