I don't know if this has been posted before but it solves the problem of getting into your car, providing it's a remote key entry.
On your cell phone ,call someone at home where you have a spare remote car opener and get them to press the opener button into the mouthpiece of the phone. Hold your cell phone near the front doors of your car and bingo the car will unlock. This will work even with cordless phones at home and even if you are a long way from home. This saves someone having to drive out to you or calling the motoring organisations. Try it yourself and see how it works!

It will be interesting to see if this works. Wonder how many people will now go out and try this.

tis not an idea that works due to decoding systems etc....
However an idea that works with older vehicles, remember the ones that used a key to unlock the door :-(
Attach a spare key under the vehicle with a cable tie!!!!
Place the key into a 10cm long piece of 1 inch plastic tube.
Cut two holes through the tube near one end on opposite sides, put the key into the tube from this end, place the cable tie through the plastic tube holes and also the hole in the key and attach the package to an easy to get at place under the vehicle that will not be damaged by rocks or flying
debris from the bush tracks.
It works for me, the cable tie can be cut by a broken beer bottle or you can ask someone for a knife to cut out the key as I have done on a few occasions :-)

Most remotes work on RF (radio transmissions) Mobiles only transmit and recieve audio in the audible frequency range. Even if they did relay the signals from your remote, it would be so garbled it would be like trying to unlock your car with your garage door opener.

Bit like when I used our video remote, the one that reads the bar codes to record.
Scanned a packet of Laxettes.....
It taped McLeods on channel 9

I thought you were going to say it taped A Current Affair... Not that we would tape anything from the TV, that would be breach of copyright...

I know it sounds far fetched but I tried it with my Toyota L/C 100 and it worked.

I tried it with the nearby ATM, struth it wouldn't stop spitting out $50 notes so I'm off to the dealer tomorrow to order a new cruiser. Let you know if it works on the doors.

Twas a dark night. The wind howled in the tree tops and the wombats dare not leave the safety of their burrows but I ventured out to capture a rig
pic....must get the flash fixed one day.

The Wombats dared not leave their burrows in case the trees blew down on them! Would you like to borrow my camera Ray? Mind you some may suggest that the 'yota has never looked so good!

Yes Paul there are those who tremble at the sight of the mighty Lux and marvel at it's coaster bus snatching capability so perhaps we should do them all a favour and leave your camera at
home :)

Hi, get a cheap copy of your vehicle key and tie it to the chassis some place. This spare key will get you into the car but will not start the car as it will not have the ignition imobiliser attached so it is not a lot of use to a car thief if they should find it. You can also hide your expensive imobiliser key in the vehicle and just take a cheap copy key to get in the door when you are at
the beach.

Met a guy in a
bush camp once, . He and his girlfriend had been for a swim on a not too hot late spring day, they were both turning a pale blue colour as the sun set slowly in the west. His nice dry towl and clothes were on the front
seat and I could see his keys hanging in the ignition. His girlfriend had a spare in her handbag, safely stashed out of sight in the car.
Now this system is not real scientific but it works without fail on any vehicle. Smashed the window with a large
rock. He then reached in recoverd the keys and unlocked the door.
We did try quite a few less drastic measures over about an hour before resorting to
the rock.
Actually when I think about it, it is scientific. Applied physics.

Even when audio was used to operate central locking in the very early days it used ultrasonics. Certainly beyond mobile phone mic
pic up and transmission audio.
Can't beleive some of these things suck so many people in.
Besides even if it were true any decent system since about 1995 has used rolling codes and the last code that was used won't work again for about 256,000 button presses if not more.
