Gone Bush,

I spent alot of time in the area surfing/fishing many years ago. In March 04 we stayed in the PT C/park and caught a stack of fat mullet of the rockwall, about a minutes walk from the tent.
Heaps too see and do in the nearby Innes park.

I fish down the bottom end of yorkes regularly, I have not had huge luck at turton itself but do really well of the rocks near the light house at corny point, If you got to the carpark to the right of the light house you will see some pretty large chunky rocks, there is one thats nice and flat down there , comfortable to fish off. ***** BE WARNED, THE SWELL CAN BE UNPREDICTABLE, DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK TO THE SEA*** I lost a very good friend off the rocks there, he came on every fishing trip with me, always did well when he was with me, a big swell came in and my wife dove to grab her pack of smokes off him and left my jumper, My lucky fishing jumper to be swallowed by the swell never to be seen again. I will miss that jumper

Also Hillocks point has alot of great spots and also you can camp there, its a property /farm owned by the butlers for years (no relative). They have some rough on site vans, long drop loos and heaps of spots to fish. Caught all osrts of fish there, salmon, huge wrass, massive mullet, rays, tommies, flathead .... the list goes on.

If you want any more info let me know or drop me a email, stuartb@recycledoffice.com.au

Havent been to Yorks for years but there are better places to fish over there than Point Turton...IMO.........eg: Corny Point, Daly Head, Browns Beach, Marion Bay, Butlers Beach (Hillocks) and the vans arent that bad, yar only fishing for crying out loud.
Best time to fish Yorks was in autumn and winter IMO but only say that cos we went in October once and got FA.
But dont let that stop you we were only in one spot for 3 days
Bit of good 4 wheelin to do over there if they're not biting anyway. Plenty of points of interest to check out.
Good luck
