"Only farmers and others with a legitimate need for a 4WD would be spared the price jump under the plan."

Just how do you police "legitimate need"?????

sorry mate your right sometimes you have to bow to peer pressure or inthat case straight out size lololol we did meet a couple while travelling from mt isa to cammoweal along the road works a few weeks ago while away with the van on "it was interesting" but fortunately most of the drivers have a brain and give a bit so you have time to get off the road for them

Its like this in South Africa too. We cant drive on beaches, most likely seems that by November all mountain trails will be banned due to enviromental damage. These are set out tracks! Drives me mad!

Why should we receive a reduction in tariffs because we CHOOSE to drive a 4wd. I accept that those, like farmers etc, receive a reduction, as they may need a 4by for their business etc. How many of us need one to make a living?

Umm, I want a HSV of FPV vehicle for my enjoyment; maybe I should get a reduction too.

Somtimes I reckon us 4wders are the biggest whingers around. Yhink ourselves lucky that the 'loophole' has been available for so long.

Cheers

"Somtimes I reckon us 4wders are the biggest whingers around."

OMFG, what sort of wally are you? Do you actually see the crap 4wd owners cop?? Or are you not a 4wd owner at all and just here to stir trouble?

The amount of whinging that comes out from the 4wd community is about 2% of the crap we take from the media. Get a life.

Jeff, I DO own a 4by & Truckster, I might be a 'troll' in your eyes, but am being realistic, not like a few here. Unfortunately, cannot have an opinion.

This Marcus Godinho clown is just trying to stir up some "controversy" to promote his self importance!
With people of his of his "community stature" status always pulling stunts like this to get some badly wanted attention!
Reminds me! A lot like Madonna! (Yes the singer not the Roman Catholic Icon!)

ps. This 'Clown' is right about one thing though!!.....his last comment about the 'company car'! What a right 'ol tax rip off that is! And it tends to promote really bad driving habits by the finacial beneficiary!!

Got to agree on the Financials of the company car rippoff , Brotherinlaw had company car,new commodore as part of salary package , value was calculated at $12k per yr by company , brotherinlaw told company dont want or need company car ,would prefer $$ ,,company say OK ,,take car, $ value in pay packed = $3k before tax ..
