Hi all, I would like some advice on how to set up the auto up/down for my arial after installing a new Kenwood cd/mp3 player? The original tape player had a up/down button on the front of the player( really handy in the bush)

Not too flash with this sorta gear but I installed a Panasonic CD player in my Rig and it had an aerial/amp activation wire (blue in my case - don't know if the colour is standard across the board?) That will basically put the aerial up when u need it up and down when you don't. Don't know how you could make it adjustable in cab tho?
Prolly not much help now that I think of it?
Scoey.

Hi there scoey your close, instead of running the blue wire direct to the arial divert to a toggle switch first mounted on the dash some where then across to the arial this way when the radio is turned on if the switch is in the on position the arial will extend this is cheap way of doing it only prob if you want the arial to stay down in the bush while listening to cd's you will need to turn the unit off wait for arial to come down flick off dash switch then turn radio back on this will keep arial down other wise to set up properly so you can control it to go up and down you need to buy a different type of switch. You can buy all the gear from dick smith and do your self. I just did it the quick way but I left my'n up one day and snapped the friggin thing anyway so just stuck an old manual one in there stronger anyway. I just dont extend it all the way. Hope this is of some help Take Care Steve M
