We are looking on heading to Nthn NSW or SE Qld in January . looking for
places to
camp , dont really want to go to the larger commercial
camp grounds that time of year , anyone know and farms or other properties near the coast that allow
camping.

You may find the book "Dirty Weekends in South East Queensland" by Brad Mc Carthy of some use. It has loads of sites and information.
The website isDirty Weekends - Click Here
I have the book myself, but have no connection with the publisher or author.

SE Queensland in January ???? Go to the nearest air-conditioned public library and
camp inside.
I'll be home with my own air-con on and cold beers in the fridge.
But seriously, if you will be up this way then, stay coastal (ie within site of blue
water) to at least get the relief of the sea breezes.

Phil,
if you are willing to drive down a little further to
Grafton, check this place out

Top gorge
campsite is the pick and perfect if you want to have plenty of space to yourselves. River is good for a swim if its hot. Take a look for yourself.

Phil, Jan. on the north coast will be humid like all getout!
Why not think about the n.
new england area, say Torrington or similar? Plenty of FREE
bush camping, creeks to swim in, pleasant day time temps. and cool nites!
