What mileage should I be getting out of a full
tank. My model is 4cyl (22r) with extractors and 2" system. At moment I normally get 350 km to 400 km max city or 50 km extra counrty driving.

Hi there Ian, that sounds about write.I get about 550/600 with the 2.8 diesel but thats pushing it virtualy empty 500klm for me and I'm normally showing between empty and a qaurter. Don't forget they dont have very big tanks myn's only 65 litres. The 4 petrol models wern't that ecomical but there not to to bad. I'd reckon that if your averaging about 10/13L per 100klm you'd be doing all right.Regards Steve M

I have a Holden Rodeo dual cab with a 4cyl 2.6L petrol motor. I get between 10-13L/100km depending on how much hway driving it gets.
So that is something like 450km from 55L. I have a 63L
tank.
Not the same vehicle but very similar specs all the same.

My 4Ltr V6 Explorer gets about 13.5Ltres per 100
Makes the 2.6 rodeo look fairly average doesn’t it, and make’s the 4.5Ltr patrol’s and cruisers look like pump suckers

What sort of driving do you do? The best I have gotten is 8.5L/100km but not very often. That is with 100% hway and just me in it with no gear.
If I calculate for 13L/100km for a trip I'll never run short of fuel. With my normal running around I generally get 11.5 or so.
So if you average 12.5 that's pretty good for a 6 banger unless you do a lot of hway.
As for the original question if you are getting 350-400 all city and +50 for hway then I would think that would be on the lower side of ok. Do you use your aircon a lot or have bigger than standard tyres? That would easily account for your mileage being a little low.

I don’t do much stop start driving as I miss traffic both way’s due to the time I start and finish work if I did a lot of driving in traffic I am sure it would be a chit load worse. During the week I do about 70 litres to 500k’s
From memory, on a country run I can scrape 600k’s out of a
tank sitting on 120K/ph.
Consumption sits around 13-15 Litres per hundred, Not bad for 2 Tons of American steel.

70L for 500kms is 14L/100km. I just filled up and got 58L for 500km which is 11.6L/100km. Not much in it really. Although I guess it all adds up. Especially at $1.20L
What weighs more...........two tonnes of American steel or two tonnes of Japanese steel??? LOL

Too close to call, It will do 0-100 in 9-seconds, hmm wonder how much fuel it burns doing that!! Sssssslurp.
This rely hi-light at how inefficient the old 4.5Ltr Toyota and Nissan petrol motors were, What do they get around 18-20Ltrs per hundred and produce less power. Wear the 2.6Ltr is getting 11.6 my 4.0Ltr is getting 14, I will pay for the extra 2.4Ltrs per hundred for the extra Pro-Formance.
I have to admit the 14 is by driving it smoothly if I flogged the chit out of it all the time then the figures would go throe the roof, can’t afford that these day’s but ):

Well I would also be happy to use a bit more fuel for some more power. Unfortunately I am sure that even though you use 17% more fuel than me you have more than 17% more power than me :-(
