Hi all,
Could anyone let me know when the 99 petrol prado 3.4l timing belt must be changed.
The two manuals I have tell me different strories. One at 100k & the other said 150k.
Cheers.......Clinton

Toyota increased the interval to 150k in about '98 or '99.
Check under the bonnet to see if there's a sticker with the interval on it. Secondly, believe your owners handbook rather than a workshop manual.
I don't know if they actually fitted different belts, or simply decided a longer interval was OK.
Cheers
Phil

Very interested myself in that one... if you find out the answer why they changed it, then do post it up here please.
Mine says 150K (2000 update model), but many many people still think its at 100K.

I have no idea why, but as mentioned, the original 96-99 models are supposed to be replaced at 100K, whilst the 'update' 00-02 models are replaced at 150K
