Gidday all,

I managed to get myself some 16 inch alloy rims from a patrol Ti Wooo hooo. The sort that have 3 spokes, they are common enough, Ive seen them on a few vehicles.
Currently I have standard 15 inch white rims 6 stud etc etc on my '92 Y60 GQ Patrol.
The new rims fit great, seem to clear everything, but when you go to put on the wheel nuts the problems start. Now I need to point out that these are not your normal garden variety wheel nuts they have a shank and then a washer then they flange out and then in to the hex all with with a rounded top...and get this....it turns out that they have a 1.5 pitch in their thread.....which is the standard pitch.....for a Cruiser!!
Nissan aparrently have a standard pitch of 1.25 (Finer thread). Now WTF is going on???
Now this hasnt been bothering me too much til I staked a tyre on an outing at the weekend....so things are a bit more urgent now.
After calling Nissan and confirming that the rims are genuine Nissan (They also have Nissan printed on the inside of the rim), and that the standard stud size is 1.25 pitch for Nissan and that the "Right" nuts are about 8 bucks each...Im in a spot....
Do I get the nuts for the standard Nissan Ti at about $200 or do I change the studs for Cruiser ones with 1.5 pitch?
AND why the hell are the nuts a different pitch anyway??
Help

The Rims are off the Ti, and were options on the ST... new price around $370ea last time I priced em.

Changing the studs never hurts since they stretch anyway... if they are original ones, then it would be good, but how much would that cost, I couldnt see it being much cheaper to change 24 studs or 24 nuts. then the ones on the spare rack too so you have spare nuts.

I'd stick to the 15's and flog the 3 spokers.. last set I saw on Ebay went $800+ with a 0 history bidder..
