My Dad has the same RX with a "Command AP60?" cruise control I think!!!!. Has been on for a few years and no prob's bar a magnet eventually dislodging, just put on the spare that comes with it. I've driven with it many times on trips, drops out @ 80kph so be aware on the long climbs. He was in a meeting when I rang to check just now so I'll get back to you. He fitted it himself so they aren't a big job. I've got one for my Lux that he will fit up soon, when he has the time that I don't. Got
mine from Sup'crap on spec'l $200

Hi Gossy,
I have a 95 RX 2.8TD Patrol, I had a Autron cruise control fitted last year, to date it has never given me any trouble. It was not cheap, cost around $900 to have it fitted, but is worth every cent. Their web site is worth a look...

that's great guys, thanks for that. I will make some calls. I got told that because of the engine type it could not be done so this is good news.

Hi Gossy,
I too have a Command AP60 cruise control on our '97 Discovery Tdi (also bought on a 'sale' day at Supercheap! - only $185 as I recall). It has a worked excellently for a few years now, once I too solved the magnet attaching problem.
Mine doesn't drop out until below 50 km/h either.
Your 2.8TD has an injection pump almost identical to my Land Rover (just has 6 outlet pipes, not 4!), so it should be able to be connected in a very similar manner. Did need to make up a small adapter piece to attach the cc cable to the throttle quadrant, but not difficult.
I presume your RX will be a manual so, to do the job properly, you'll need a clutch switch to release the cc when you put the clutch in. Command do make a manual transmission adapter kit but it's bl**dy expensive and only available on special order. I have a simple circuit using a common automotive relay to enable any generic brake light switch to be used for the clutch. PM me if you'd like photos or other details.

thanks Ian. I have contacted a supplier in
Adelaide. Now I just need to get approval from the handbrake!
