Iv'e thought about it for a while, LR tank vs gerry cans and i'm going to go with the tank.Hang the Price...
Need some info on the Brown Davies tank..
Has anyone got one fitted to a hilux dual cab td series 167 and what is your opinion...Any problems? Can they split.Does the fuel gauge read correctly. Is there a down side.I'd be very interested to hear input from our learned 4WD fraternity..

many thanks

gday hun(sounds like ive just walked in the door from work lol)
i have a brown davis fitted on the jack so far no probs bolted on as the instuctions said couldnt be happier.
i also know a few other people who have them fitted with out any problems.
one mate has ttwo tanks fitted and carrys around 300+ litres i think and has just completed another not so easy tour with out any problems.
i know there will be a lot of people getting on bagging the brown davies but they must have fixed up there problems.
any long range tank from any company can split and do.
any way im happy with mine and so are my mates.
cheers.

The only two brand's i would consider are longranger or LRA forget the others to many problems.

Hi Hun,
I have a BD long range tank on the cruiser, only problem was a cracked mount on the tank and sometimes the tank scrapes due to the reduced clearance, you may notice that the gauge is a bit vague if you need to modify the original sender unit by lengthening the float, however you soon get used to it.
IMO Much better and safer method of carrying extra fuel than jerry cans.
Cheers,
Tony

LRA 135lt in a 94 LN106 since day one & 280 K's to date. Not a problem. If it is setup right when installed the fuel should be accurate.
