Hi all,
I am about to look at a 93 Patrol Turbo Diesel (4.2) Auto. 250kms. Around $14,000 but expect to get it for less. Question: Should I be looking for any problems in particular re: the auto. I have never experienced a diesel auto. How does the Auto go towing and will I get a BIG reduction in fuel economy etc?
Any advice about these babies will be appreciated.

Hi Keith - fairly sure the 4.2 diesel Patrol was never released with auto.
It was a copy of the perkins engine, and used in trucks and buses in Asia.
When Nissan needed an engine for the Patrol (around 1987) I think, they just took the engine and drive train out of the truck/buses, and dropped it into the Patrol.
Hence - unkillable - but with a manual box.
Others may be able to correct me on the auto - but never seen one personally.........Regards.
