I am only a visitor to this site, what i have seen is a credit to you guys.
I think its time we all united on the oil prices that these greedy oil companys are charging.
We need people power to let these companys know we are not mushrooms, if we all band together we can close a oil company down.
My suggestion, lets pick a company like say Ampol, boycot there service stations.
If we dont do anything, they know we are real mushrooms and give us more feed, that us guys dont need. Also the goverment does not care as they get more gst from the oil rip companys offs.

Hi Graham,

I like your courage for trying to come up with a solution, but the way I see it is we need more competition and that has to come from diversifying the fuel products available to the consumer. There has to be a greater options through bio-fuels such as ethanol blends and bio-diesel reducing the reliance on oil.

My thoughts only.

Troy it was about 4 weeks ago, mid August. We had all that rain at the end of June, so there was a some water left over from that. The Queen Mary Falls were also flowing so that was good. It was still pretty shallow still, that crossing in photo was probably the deepest.

I like there method of pricing
Price is based on singapor price index.
Beats my why
Why not base the price on a arab country.
They blame storms at the moment but for the price of petrol , but I cant see how the price can change on a ship on the way out here.
It must take about 8 or so weeks to get here.
I think they are having alend of us.

All the best

We paid $1.42 for diesel and petrol was $1.43 in Bamaga 3 weeks ago. Diesel was $1.32 and petrol was $1.29 in Weipa 5 weeks ago.

That's cheaper than here in Melbourne, that'll be because of the lower QLD petrol taxes i suppose.

Roll all your super into a self managed fund and buy shares in Woodside, Santos, Caltex and a few of the smaller ones like Nexus, Oil Search and AWE. Why not diversify and buy some offshore oil companies like Shell, BP, Conoco-Phillips and Exxon-Mobil? You could also buy some shares in Insurace companies while you are at it and use your dividend cheques to pay for your insurance each year.

Cheers
