My GU patrol has developed a structural crack in the pillar of the main rear door. I saw "Cocka" had the same problem and Nissan honoured their warranty and replaced his door. Ours has occurred without running the jack or other kit off the back wheel carrier, and Nissan are basically being "a.....#!!s" about he whole thing and not coming to party re the warranty and not giving us a reason. Has anyone else had the same problem or did we just get a door made on a Friday afternoon at about 5 oclock?
Cocka, was your warranty honoured at just your dealer level, ie they wore the cost or was it authorised through Melbourne office??

Nissman,
Cocka's probably out of touch for a week, he's somewhere in the Arafura Sea on a fishing jaunt. Poor sod.

Nissman,
Yes I ve had mine repaired, warranty, dealer just sent a photo to head office, there was no question, even arranged repair date at the same time.
Panel beater, welded a reinforcing plate inside crack and welded and painted crack
It isnt common but Nissan do know about it
Once they were assured standard size tyre, no jack etc they authorized repair
Regards
JR

Hi Nissman, your Q has been bought to my notice as I just arrived back yestgerday.
I bought my GU privately second hand a couple of years back, only 15k on the odo at the time.

Saw my local dealer service dept , I had removed the spare and saddle but they noted I had OS tyres, they photographed the crack & 2 days later got the reply from HO that a new door was being sent to replace the cracked one. A week later the job was done. Easy peezy.

Persist & you shall overcome, I hope.

Good luck
