My vehicle a 2001 patrol had a new engine fitted last year therefore it has a later model engine fitted than original. I have had the vehicle serviced at 2 different places and it has been over filled with oil to approx the same mark on the dip stick about 1 to 2 litres. Has anyone had this problem when a later model engine has been fitted. Are the dip sticks different between a 2001 and a 2004 engine. I believe the later engines hold more oil.

gid'ay david
your 2001 model should have re-marked dip stick, have you had it from new if so nissan should have changed the dipstick, my navara is not serviced by nissan the two times they have it has been over filled,i don't think they measure the quantity, or don't allow time to drain down and just top it up,hope this helps.

No I've only had it 12 months the previous owner had the engine fitted under warranty. I was wondering if they use the old dip stick or should it be replaced with a later model one.
