Just feeling the need to vent my opinion, and it is only MY opinion, about the above topic.

I can't understand all the "now we've got an excuse to kill them" crap that's going around at the moment. Unfortunately a man lost his life in the NT while snorkling off the coast and a couple have lost their lives surfing on our south coast while a couple have had VERY near misses with sharks, also on our south coast... I have every synpathy for the friends and families of the victims but I disagree with the level of malice toward the animals in question.

How does a persons actions in assessing the danger, continuing to partake and being attacked translate to a need to cull. IMO, the sharks and crocs have a far better reason for being there than we do. These areas are their homes, the places they have inhabited for far longer than humans have been here. They are not domesticated animals and as such cannot partake in behavioural modification to cater for us.

The risks are widely known so I say, "If you want to watch the sun come up tomorrow, use a bit of common sense and stay out of the waters which are known habitat"

Rant over

Blue,
how right you are.
I agree, the heartache and distress in loosing a loved one is "Im-measureable"
BUT- We are all accountable for our actions ???
Do - We take all "HOLDENS" off the road because they were involved in a
fatality ??
Do - We ban all 4WD's because some "MORON" has a vendetta against 4wd's ??
It is "Too" easy to blame someone/something that disadvantages us ??
BUT - To live in "HARMONY" we have to "LEARN" to be tolerant !!
We have the "BEST COUNTRY" in the world why change anything ???

C Ya all, out there somewhere
Barry

Blue and Barry how right you are, but that is the way of the world these days , It's always someone else's fault with everything that goes wrong . Don't know if it's a generational thing or what but I was raised to accept responsibility for my actions , If I screw up it's my fault , simple as that.

Cheers Dave L.

If an absolutely sensational roast dinner turned up on your table when you were hungry, what would you do?
