Hey there im chasing a spare wheel carrier for my 88 4runner ive asked kaymar (no help) and cant find a swing away to suit can anyone suggest a place where i may be able to get one.
And is it worth my effort to look? How hard is it to make one?

Is the 88 4 Runner the new shape or last of the Hilux shape?
I made one for our 4 Runner out of scrap steel and it probebly cost about $50 all up.
You can check it out -http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/forum/index.php?board=18;action=display;threadid=11855
Had to make the "Gull Wing" in it to clear the TREG hitch otherwise you could use a straight RHS section.

My swing away spare wheel carrier (on our Rodeo) is off a shorty Patrol. Not the model with the door mounted one...it could be a GU??? What very easy to install, been on 2 years and some rough trails with no probs. Also have the Codan autotune mounted on it.
