Don't have anything to do with 9 - they are manipulative hypocrites - any interaction that people have with them is turned into gain for 9, whatever the subject. The only effective way to give them "what for" is to ignore them. Their very existence depends on people interacting with them. Excuse me..... rant over .... I can't stand them.

The day people realise the media is not about information and the banks are not about looking after our money is the day the world faces reality.
All they are about is the same thing as the fuel companies and any business. Driving up the share price.

Geoff.

That's absolutely right. Did Ch9 lose the Nissan sponsorship, and are still cranky about it or something? They seem to love Scruby - the human headline - so I can only imaging what goes on behind the scenes in the interest of political correctness.....

Hi all,

I know I'm not the only one that burn inside when this rubbish is trouted around so I'll stay off the soapbox. What I'm interested in, is there any set criteria for anyone wanting to cinduct one of these "surveys"? Could we perhaps conduct a "survey" on the EO site about what people think about drivers of sedans for example? I'm sure the members and visitors to this site would cover a wide demographic! Hehe! Wouldn't that produce an interesting result? We could get that published! Oh, hang on a sec... we're all fat lazy obnoxious arrogant b*st*rds who couldn't be bothered! haha!
By the way, I'm mid 20's, 6'6" & 100kg (ie not obese) earn a below average income and I happen to care about most peolpe less fortunate than myself. I own an 80 series which is very uneconomical but I work hard to fill it so I can enjoy my life and my other mode of transport is a Suzi GSX-R 750 motorbike and the most dangerous thing on the road IMO is the idiot cruising along trying not to spill thier fries, changing CD's and SMS'ing! Good and bad drivers are found everywhere.

It's a shame that the ignorant and stupid make up the majority in this world.

Cop ya later!

Write to them and ask what EXACTLY the questions were, the age breakdown, driver/passengers, sample size, p value (stats), comparison to trucks? (size visibility, etc). Why were 14-17 yr olds were included, when they are not legally allowed to drive?

CC the letter to Today Tonight, Mediawatch (ABC) and the newspapers with (ideally) someone with a background in statistics (University lecturer???) to shoot holes through their so-called "research".

By their logic: "Thirty perecent of vehicle accidednts are caused by drink driving, therefore seventy percent are caused by stone-cold-sober drivers. Drink drive, you are safer."

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.....

The media must be low on stories.

They have brought out the 4wd issue Oz wide and in Qld just started talking about daylight saving again for the 40th plus time.

Obviously enough people haven't been killed in disasters around the world to rate :-(. So they the media are getting bored and can't sell time or papers.

Funny!! just went to the post office, coming back, i saw a frail old man hunched over and hobbling as fast as he could across a busy road. A Prado slowed and waited for the old fella to cross,,, very curtious i thought, I guess he should have blasted the horn, gave him the one finger salute and knocked him on his bum!!

Yes! a missed opportunity to be a real four wheel driver!! LOL!

One of the problems with commercial television in Australia is that there is too many of them. A country with a population like ours and I include the whole of Australia rearly needs only one commercial TV station. They would then have other things to think about other than 4WDs and our programs would be a lot better
