maps on cd

looking at updateing to the new nat map raster 250 k ,from the geodata 250 K. question will it take up more space , and is it better to load or use as a cd .i am useing OZE EXPLORER software. also useing HEMA great desert taack cd, and may run out of space (computer is laptop ACER travelmate 522it safe driveing MAL B

From what Ive heard yes. the maps are greater definition..

Mal, The Natmap ECW files average about 2.5Mb each, with 253 files on CD1 and 265 files on CD2. You will need about 1.25GB free to load them. This is faster and more convenient if you have space.

See my earlier post, a couple of days ago, on this subject. Still haven't been able to get better definition using Natmaps 250K. Still working on it though. Tried 100K series from Geoimage, but at $18000.00 for all the maps on CD, not all of Australia covered, I did not buy them. Hope this helps.
