Hmmm, I'm no exoert but my mates 04 V6 Hilux died after 15,000 Klm of LPG.
Toyota said its not suited and wouldn't help out, funny as the local dealer helped arranged the fittment
He had valve problems or similar, he however didn't run an upper cylinder lube kit, i dont know if this would have changed the outcome though.

I'm also considering putting my 2001 3.4 Prado on gas . Spoke with local Toyota Service Dept recently and they said they could not recommend it (no reason given and they would not expand) however also said many Prados had been converted and were runnning
well. You hear stories of problems with valves/heads etc , is this just a few vocal few or is it a
sign of a bigger problem?
Decisions Decisions Decisions ..... not sure what to do now.

I have asked about this recently. A few said to stay away from it like it was the plague. Others said no problems. Dealers and fitters I spoke to said no problems, AS LONG as it was serviced regularly. They said there can be problems if not serviced regularly. You lose about 2-3 inches under the existing main fuel
tank, but of course remains inside the departure angle for what its worth. Mileage is 20-30% worse and the
tank is 2/3 smaller, so expect to fill up more. But is a heap cheaper for fuel.

As far as I know, after 6 years selling toyotas (until recently), the 3.4 prados do not have hardened valve seats, therefore not suitable for LPG unless running an upper cylinder lube kit , but I'm not sure how effective this lube kit is.
