As the title suggests I just wanted to thanks Jimbo for his initial post on the 12 volt oven, and then Lyn for her added information.

I had mine stored in the garage catching dust ,where I had decided it was going to stay. I couldnt see past using it to heat a few pies, so figured it wasn't worth the space taking it anywhere just for that, plus I have to admit it looked a bit like a toy, so I didn't have a lot of faith in it.

But after all their advice we took it with us on our recent trip to the corner, we had lunches on the go of, hotdogs, pies, sausage rolls, jam donuts and even bought more frozen party pies at Wilcania to restock.

The 3 kids thought it was fantastic, we saved a heap of money we usualy spend on lunches going thru towns. We managed to fit 6 four and twenty pies in it at once and feed all 5 of us with no worries at all. We didn't try the Dim Sims tho Jimbo, but took a packet on a nice 4000k round trip.

This is definitely coming on every trip now. so thanks again!!

Glenn

they're a beaut,

drove down to Melbourne last week for the GF and was able to do myself some toasted sandwiches, pizzas as well as the mandatory pies and pasties, whenever it took my fancy, while co driver kept his eyes on the road.

Lookshurare!

I searched the archives and found last years note about DSE having them for $25. Does anyone know what they are going for these days at either Jaycar or DSE?

We have one now too....went to DSE last Saturday and bought "Jimbo's Oven" ( as it will forevermore be named). Think it was around the $25.00 mark...looking forward to putting it to the test now...maybe that could be the excuse I need for Andrew to take a day off and we could go away!
