Yep, you should be fine. Some of the tracks are a bit steep, but you should be fine.

Thanks fatz,

We will probably enter via Oberon and Black Spring and camp at The Sink.

Yeah, you'll be fine going in that way. Not sure how much you have done in the xtrail, but they are a good little unit. Was away with a group of them about two months ago and was very surprised at how capable they are!

Enjoy

Is it easier going in the western or eastern side. The only time I've been here the crossing over the Retreat River was pretty ruttiing out and may have been interesting with a bit of rain.As it was I just walked down to the main river to do some fishing.

There were a very small number of trout and a lot of carp about but that was three year now and the river totally ceased flowing during the drought.
It might take a few years to bounce back as rain has been very patch up on the tablelands.

Charlie ,
I own land down at the junction of the Abercrombie and Isabella Rivers . Both rivers are full of carp - it is too hot for trout in the summer . The only time you see good trout is in the winter when the fish from the dam come up to spawn .
Cheers ,
Willie .

Agree about camping at the Sink, getting in and out of the Beach is quite a steep decent and climb. I wouldnt recommend the NE ( Brass Walls) exit as if it is a bit muddy, you may have troubles. Was there at Easter and there was a little bit of rain one night which made the exit sloppy.

No probs in the x-trail. Last time i was there was approx 18 months ago, and a mate managed the whole park in his outback.
have fun...
