I need a good supplier and fitter of a stainless stell water tank (underbody) for my GQ patrol (looking for a good price).

I am currently in Perth but will be driving through South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and NSW beofre I really need it so I am open to researching suppliers in any of those states.

I have been quoted $920 from K&N Fabrication (Perth) 70l supplied and fitted. i would love to do better than that.

Any suggestions of who to cintact for a quote would be grately appreciated.

Hi Sigman

I do not know the exact size other than its approax 70 litres and goes where you would normally fit a seconf fuel tank (RH side). The one I have been quoted on has the filler through the engine bay and the tap on the side with a protective sheild.

BamBam,

I have just modified the Business search systems on ExplorOz and if you take the Business Search keyword in the Related Keywords system above you will see a listing for Long Range Automotive. They are in Melb and did some tanks for us which were fully custom. Could be worth a go.

Mytton's used to be a manufacturer of lightweight stainless steel LPG tanks, so the only shape you will get will be a cylinder. I think they have been out of business for a number of years now.

would a tank that has had LPG in it contaminate the water you put in it?

Dont know about GQ underbody type. We've got wedge shaped version which fits behind 2nd rows seats (GU) from Long Range Automotive. I was very happy with quailty / service / function. They also make long fuel tanks so I reckon they would have to be worth checking out.
