Rod from Bush Camping
Late this morning I was heading south on the Tonkin Hwy. Just south of the
Guildford Road entry I seen a Copper walking north off on the lefthand verge, looked like he was looking for something. About a couple of hundred metres further south I seen his police vehicle (a Nissan Patrol) sitting off on the righthand verge. At first it looked bogged but as I got closer it became apparent… the rear lefthand wheel was gone… no where to be seen, poor bugger. That must have been a bit exciting for him. I wonder what those behind him seen and/or had to do.
So I guess 3 wheelers don’t work.

Probably yet another victim of the tyre service cowboys, it's about they understood the basics of their industry, they call themselves professionals?
Wheel nuts have a prescribed tension, just the same as cylinder head nuts & for basically the same reason.

Every nut and bolt on the vehicle is done to a prescribed tension when built.

Maybe he booked the missus of the the Goodyea the day before he got his new tyres.
I would have love to have been a fly on the wall back at the station, I bet he went nuts!!!!!.

Reminds me of a trip to Fraser in an old CJ5 jeep I had.
Heading along
the beach the RH Rear wheel bearing fell to pieces and the wheel, axel etc headed west. Funniest part was when we were sitting on
the beach waiting for the tow truck. Everone would see a vehicle broken down, slow down as though they were going to stop, see we were a tripod & speed away.
