This is a very silly question I know. However it is something that I have not taken any notice of. How easy is it to remove the two extra seats in the backof the st patrol? I assume it is easy as we had an old pajero once and it was basic, but I read a recent review and difficulty removing back seats was noted as an issue....
Sure it isnt, but thought that I should check as we havent looked at this when looking at the patrol.

Hi Lenni
To remove the seats is very easy. Just remove the plastic trim over the bolt and remove two bolts per
seat.

Thanks Bob. I thought that this may be the case, however was a little puzzled by the review. They must have meant for daily use and we would just take them out long term.

And dont forget to put the bolts back in, I use those holes to mount my cargo barrier, works a treat.

Also you can go to somewhere like costless bolts or Coventry fasteners buy some heavy duty or rated eyelets because they make great tie down points

Lenni,
Just be aware of the current little controversy about legality. It doesn't bother me (my rig is sooooo illegal already that I am not in the least worried about getting pinged for the seats not being in full time).
The problem (if you wanna call it that) is that the Patrol is complianced-plated for 7 seats. Due to that, you are supposed to only remove the 3rd row of seats (or any others for that matter) as a temporary measure......I think they mean like 7 days or something like that. So if (like me), you have the 3rd row out and a cargo barrier and shelving unit, fridge-slide etc in the vehicle full-time, you're gunna find it hard to convince anybody in authority, that your mods are only temporary.
Apparently what you're supposed to do, is spend a few hundred bucks and get a new compliance plate with "5 seats" specified instead of 7. It follows that if you wanna sell the vehicle later with the other 2 seats back in, you's deend to get it re-complianced!!!! What a crock of s h i t.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

G'day Roachie,
Does that mean I should get my 3 seater Nissan re complianced.
As you said "what a crock".
Take the seats out and load the thing to it's eyeballs with goodies for work or
camping, it will settle the otherwise harsh ride down (just kidding).
I could not fit my payload in unless all seats are out of the way. If I didn't have a
young fella it would be a 2 seater and more gear in thats seat"s place would go in.
Come to think of it if I didn't have a missus ...., the mind boggles at the opportunities (haha)
Cheers Trevor.

isnt that a bugger i only have the two bucket seats in the front, i have a fold up board on hinges that uses the original
seat mount points so i have a place i can put my gear bags .
i also have my hf and cd stacker and inverter under it.
