Hi all,

Whenever I try to either "Save track log to file" or "Save track log (mem)" I get an error message that says "Cannot create track file" after I have selected the location and filename.
I am trying to save a track that I made using moving map. I followed the instructions to the letter. I have also tried searching for the cetrack.plt file and cannot find it. This is meant to be the track log file.

I have never had any success saving tracks with Ozi CE so I have just used my Etrex for tracking. However I currently have a track displayed on Ozi CE that I want to save so I figuring out how to do it has suddenly become necessary.

Any ideas?

I did a search but came up with nothing relevant.

Can't help sorry, just tried on mine and saved to file no problem.

It's not a simple syntax error (wrong character or similar) in the file location box is it?

No. Even when I use the offered filename or "hhh" it will still reject the save.

Thanks.

Have you tried contacting OZIEXPLORE or check the FAQ on their website?

I had trouble as my computer only has USB ports and my GPS uses a Com Port cable. I used an adaptor but when I checked the website FAQ all my problems were solved and it works fine.

I have checked all the FAQ and help files and had no luck. I'll try emailing them if I get no joy from here. Might do a reinstall first though. As that will probably be their first guess.

Try a re-install of CE or better remove it completely fron the PDA and do a clean install.

I have downloaded the latest CE to do just that but I imagine I'll lose my track in the process. However I can't think what else I can do.

Will just have to go back and track it again :-)

Hello - I have recreated your problem and a couple of possible issues may exist

1. If I try to save to a non existent directory cant save file. Go to File - Configuration - Map & Data Files. Make sure the Data File Path (down the bottom of page) actually exists by brousing to it. This becomes default directory for saving data...you can actually choose another directory when saving data....though I suspect you have already tried this so maybe Im on wrong track:)

2. If the track log does not exist in the first place you will not be able to save it so make sure File - Track Log - Log Track to File has a tick next to it - if it does not have a tick next to it it is turned off. To activate click on it. This does not apply to Track Log (mem)...even a blank track log (mem) can be saved (well by me anyway) and it is recorded whenever you start moving map (assuming track log distance not set to zero). What is your track log distance set to (File - Configuration - Tracks)? If this is set to zero no logging will occur...and no file will be created.

3. Not sure why you can not save existing track showing on screen ie Save Track Log (Mem)..maybe issue 1. above

Hope my suggestions help
Cheers
Greg
I sent one final shout after him to stick to the track, to which he replied “All right,” That was the last ever seen of Gibson - E Giles 23 April 1874
