Apperently it did but you also get more benefit from using a dtronic as
well.

Hi all, a little off topic, where is the jury at in regard to the 3.0 vs the 4.2 litre TD patrol? was it just the early 3 litre with problems or are they ongoing?

Unlike ptrol engines that need back pressure , diesels dont , the less restriction the better they go , you can even take off the muffler they will go better . Now when I say better , I am not telling you that you will increase by 1000 hp it will help slightly . The Turbo acts as a muffler also , so no , it wont sound like a drag car

Just having some thoughts. Do the 3.0l have a restrictive dump pipe like on the 4.2? I notice that the catalytic converter almost hangs off the bottom of the turbo. Do people do away with it also when replacing the stock exhaust?

Apparently the trick is to also replace the wastegate with a bigger one, so that there is no restriction at all.
I have heard to do this is about $2000 with the new 3 inch exhaust as
well.
I have a friend who used to own an exhust center and they did the simple replace exhaust only option and power incresae was substantial.
