Re my post 27049;

I am having trouble getting the circlip back in the groove - as i try to get it into the groove in the spined shaft, the shaft moves rearwards (towards the diff) and makes the seating of the circlip impossible. Anyone remeber having a problem a problem of is sort?

The circlip doesn't have holes in to allow circlip pliers and it's a devil of a job!

The shaft likely has a hole in it's centre to allow you to screw in a bolt, 8mm? Use this to pull it out and hold it out. The clip you are putting on is best done with the proper pliers, not C clip pliers as you have foud out! I have put these clips on before using long nose pliers. Good luck!
