1998 jackaroo td 3.0l intermittent engine fault

hi we're at a bit of a loose end and hope somebody can help, our jackaroo has several symtoms 1. after starting the engine has refused to accelerate past idle 2. it has on several occasions just died whilst being driven it will then usally restart and drive normally 3. on several occasions after starting has run like a hairy goat. The techs in our small country town in northern nsw are at present replacing the wiring loom to the injectors but they are not confident this will fix the problem, does anyone have any suggestions or can they recommend a tech with experience in these vehicles somewhere in our area or maybe sthn QLD

G'day joer,
These engines are drive-by-wire, meaning they have a small
electric motor operating the throttle. It sounds like this or the
wiring to it is playing up. Have they checked this out?
They have been known to have problem ploblems with the
throttle body.

Mate has same, about 2001 i think. Took over 9 weeks to finally sort problem. It was on going for nearly two years. eventually put in older model computer setup to fix. Email me and i will see if he will email you his phone number for you to call him. Or see if your tech can ring the local dealer in Kimba SA
