Hi all
I pick up a sr5 extra cab last wednesday and have a few questions. I tested the speedo with standard tyres with a gps at 100kph. The gps said 98-99. I put bfg 31x 10.5 at's on then checked it again and it said 103-104. I thought there would have been more of a change??.Anyone else checked with a gps. Standard tyres 738mm dia and BFG 797mm( Thats what the BFG web site says anyway). It seems to use close to 2lt per 100km more now. The speedo change would account for 0.5lt but the increase still seems a bit high. I am now using 10.5 lt per 100 (10lt when you account for speedo change)but I have been driving it very very gently to get that. Mostly highway and a little in town km.
Had a problem with the remote central locking to. Parked at a
shop tried to lock the doors with remote and nothing then after a while it locked but would not open again. I had to push the button close to 10 time to get it to work. Spare key did the same. I moved the ute to another place and worked fine so I went back to were it was parked before and the problem was back. There must have been something upsetting the signal. Very Very strange. Anyway else had any issues with there keys.
Very happy with the ute so far. Beside the bent side step and missing cruise control.

I presume it is a diesel..? Have you increased the rolling diameter of the
wheels when changing tires, I would say you have, no one ever decreases. You may have increased the rolling diameter by 5% which would account for the false reading of increased fuel consumption.
Type in the tire sizes in this website and check the change in rolling diametrer and speedo reading change.

I Pick up my SR5 Dual Cab Diesel Wednesday, looking forward to it, has 17"
wheels and overall diameter has been increased by 5% but the speedo is being adjusted to suit.
