Hey Guys,
I am going to Byron Bay this weekend and was just wondering if anybody knew of any good 4wd tracks and
camp sites around that area. I am in Byron till Tuesday and don't mind driving a few hours either way to get there (from Brissy). Could be coastal or inland.
Thanks
Dave

Not 4WD but great
campsite with fascinating coastal structure - Black Rock
camping area in Bunjalung National
Park. Go past Byron, through
Ballina and i forget how much further on not much you swing into the coast - brown NP signpost is there. Good fishing too, or was when i used to go there. If you're lucky you'll get bandicoots wandering through your
campsite at night.

Crystal
Creek 4WD
park is worth a visit. There are also easy/medium tracks in the Minyon Falls/ Whain Whain forest area. Nimbim is worth a visit, easpecailly the museum.

Hi Craft,
It's been a long time since I explored that area but that is where I grew up.
If you head out the back behind Murwillumbah to Uki there used to be some tracks from Uki through the
state forest that brought you in the back of Mullumbimby.
They weren't too tough but it is pretty country to drive through. There is also Mebbin
State Forest near Uki but from memory I think this may have now been closed to 4wd's.
Have fun on your trip mate,
Brett
