Steve it can be done. I have seen similar model Hilux/Forerunners done its just a case of juggling alternators, pwr steering pumps and the a/c compressor around until they fit. Standard Holden brackets are a good starting point but you will have to modify them. I can't remember the details as its over 14 yrs since I've seen one done and there are not that many left now as insurance/ rego hassles has killed them. I personally put a 253 in a '79 Hilux and used the std Holden alternator bracket with spacers to mount the original Hilux alternator. Keep looking, you will find someone who has done one and will tell you how.
