Hi
I was just wondering if any one has a Two Zone top for their 40 litre Engel fridge
How do you find them are they efficient and what temp do you run the fridge at.

I have had one for a couple og years now. They work OK, however, the bottom section which is your 40 litre Engel, now becomes a freezer. The setting has to be on freeze all the time. The added top section is now the fridge. The down side is
battery power consumption.
You will flatten your battery over night because the Engel fridge is on freeze and running full time.
Cheers

Only used
mine on one major trip to the Kimberly and NT . Found it very good .Ran the bottom as a freezer and installed the divide to run the top as a fridge . Didn't run it off the battery when camped , ran a generator 1 hour in the morning and 1.5 hours at dusk . Freezer remained frozen , but it was always full so there was a big 'cold' bank . Freezer temp might have been up a bit but contents were not critical and not for long storage . Generator meant I had the ability to pull down temps for unfrozen food to preserve the Barra fillets or country beef .

David,
I looked at this about a year ago.
In the end I sold my Engel 39L for $650, put the $350 a two zone costs with it and bought a Waeco 80 from the Fridge
Shop for $990 delivered (including a freebie 15L thermo cooler).
Just another option to think about.
Cheers,
Jim.

These devices appear to be like the Disco. Those that own them say they're good and those that don't have doubts.
