Hi all ,question, my 89 lux is making a clunking noise when going through bends eg, when heading home from work it's one of those roads that has a sh@t load of roundabouts when swering fromlfet to right or vise versa there's a clunking noise sounds like from the rear, hahe checked the rear bushes and look ok also I noticed the othe day at the front near the radiator where
the springs are attached to the body where sort of curl around and have the bush to the centre of them,I noticed they are to one side with in that fixture, (hope I have explained this
well enough). Regards Vitara

Vitara,
I would suggest you booked it into one of those
suspension places that do the free
suspension testing reports. I think that its pedders by name...correct me guys if im confusion them with another mob. Their testing ability will find your problems easily. Then you can either book it in for repairs OR..once you know the problem...do it yourself at home or a mates place. Clunking noises are hard to find most times. They always have you believe the noise is in rear when in actual fact its in the front somewhere :-)
Good Luck !
Ange

The shackle bushes maybe ok but the shackle pins are worn, the sound usually comes when
the springs slide sideways on the pins or bushes, more so with the polly bushes.
Further problems are centre bolt broken/loose, spring leaf keepers loose allowing the leaves of the spring to move side to side.
So as sujested get a check done by a
suspension mob.
