At the end of this week am travelling from Tassie, Mildura, Broken Hill to Innaminka. Could anyone tell me what the restrictions are on carrying fruit and vegies from Vic through NSW and SA. Dependant on the restrictions what would be the best place to stock up on these items?

Thanks..sh

I believe you not allowed to carry vegies/fruits from Vic to Tassy, but seems like
no one cares when you go from Tassy to Vic...
Going from Vic to Sa there is a Ruit patrol on the Sa Border,
just before Renmark. You can buy all the fruits you need in Renmark for
the rest of jorney to Innamincka...

You cannot take lettuce from Tassie to the mainland due to an outbreak of some sort of disease in the Tasmanian lettuces.
I would think that if you simply type fruit and vege restrictions in your address bar you will get numerous web sites on the subject. Good luck and safe travelling!

Around Mildura is a fruit fly exclusion zone, this will be your only worry. foregt about fruit and veg till then and stock up at Mildura (lots of fresh stuff there) or Broken Hill. Tassie to Vic is no worries

Not sure about Tas and Vic, but you cannot take any fruit and veg into Mildura area, and if you buy in Broken hill and decide to head for SA/Adelaide there is a road block at Oodla Wirra on the barrier H/way, but all ok if you head straight to Innamincka.

SH,

Let me preface my reply with the statement that it is all in fun.

If you did venture into QLD you will be stopped, strip searched and experience a body cavity search just to see you aren't hiding any fruit and veges and then they will check your vehicle.

After arriving home some weeks later you will receive a speed camera picture of your fruit and vegetables doing 120kph in a 100kph zone and will cop a fine and lose some points.

If there happens to be a fly in your car when you cross the border you will also get done for introducing fruit flies and that will hurt as well.

You know when you think about it I would buy them once I crossed the border.

Who Knows????
