Fit King Spring medium raised coils.
Part numbers KTFR69 KTRR70
Fit some air bags to the rear for load carrying.
Leave the standard toyota shocks as they are good.
I have just done an Flinders, Ayres Rock, Alice,
Simpson Desert trip on standard Toyota shocks with no problems in my prado.

Fredd,
In my opinion you should not just fit the coils. The 2" lift by
the springs will mean you have 2" less on the down stroke of the shocks. Stands to reason , you lift the chassis & body up 2" there is 2" less for the shock to travel down when the
suspension drops.
The other thing to consider is that it is the shocker that limits the downward wheel travel. If you lift everything 2" there will be that amount less downward travel and you are likely to end up with worse performance in the rough stuff due to the reduced
suspension travel !
It pays to get good advice from a trustworthy
suspension supplier when making these sorts of changes. If
the springs and shocks are mismatched you risk reducing wheel travel or worse if the shocks have too much travel
the springs can pop out. [unless spring retainers are fitted]
I have had only King springs and Konis on my vehicles on advice from people I trust and have been very happy, can't comment on others. Not cheap but less than $1800 for my current GU.

If you fit a 2" lift & don't change your shocks or bump stops then the wheel travel distance will be exactly the same, the only difference being you'll have 2" less drop & 2" more compression. As long as
the springs aren't too hard you wont lose any travel at all.
Although many people have had good reliability with using just the standard shock absorbers, it's far better to match new shocks with the new springs to ensure proper road holding & increased wheel travel particually seeing yours have done 80K & would be on the way out anyway.
Koni & Bilstien would be the pick of the shocks for reliability & performance offroad.
Cheers Craig.............

You will find in a 100 series Ken it is not the shock that limits the travel but the sway bar. Yes shocks do limit travel but not in Landcruisers.
Thankyou for your comments crackles. 100 percent right.

I've got Kings, Koni's and Polyairs on my 100 Series and it is a pleasure to drive both on and off road.
