Hi All,

I am trying to source either a roof top carry box or wire luggage box for a Frontera.

The Frontera factory fitted roof racks are bowed across the car (the centre of the roof rack is higher that the side rails).

Is there any one that has found a sutable setup or do I need to go to the expense of changing the roof racks as every one is telling me.

Thanks in advance,

cheers,

Sorry all bad news. I had to fit a set of Rhino racks so that I could put the basket on.
I have used Sports bar, but am about to change over to rails along the length of the roof so that I can fit 3 bar and a bigger basket. The norm for our trips is to only carry an extra spare wheel / tyre on the rack, but we will be doing a few trips without the Camper so need extra length for the swags.

Thanks Vince,

Thought as much, Could you provide a rough estimate of what it cost to get the new racks.

Going away in a fortnight unsure of final location but reckon we will end up in Wilcannia or Bourke,

There is a guy at work who might be able to make up a flat rack out of tubed steel that will attach to the exisitng roof rack which will provide a cheaper alternative. He has done most of the work on his own ute and the quality is quite good.

It will not be carrying much weight up there, only a couple of bags with clothes and the swag.

Will probably try this as $$$$ ways it is more preferable.

If it doesnt work looks like I use the trailer.

Had a look at yout rig profile and looks like you almost have the Frontera where you need it.

The Aux fuel tank goes in in 3 weeks so it's almost there. It was my wifs every day car but with the price of petrol, I got her a new little run about, so now the fronteria is MY toy.

Similar situation the Frontera is the family car, although the boss is allowing me to trade in the ford to get a another 4by as my toy.

I have just about finished the water storage tank that goes under the rear of the car complete with hose and fittings to save a bit of internal space, and then I'm done, she wont let me put a bull bar on.

you at work?

Hi Fronti guys!
Can't help with the roof-rack,but I do have the auxiliary fuel tank-fantastic,especially across the Nullabor.
Has anyone tried putting 16 inch rims on a Fronti?
Love to hear from you.
