We have just come back from a great camping holiday travelling with a commercial group from Cairns to the tip of Cape York we went by ferry to Thursday and Horn Islands. The Troopy would have handled it easily but after our last adventure we decided to take it easy this time. All meals were cooked on a fire and having something different each night for 12 nights made me more aware of just what can be done simply with a grill and a camp oven or two. The corrugations and dust made me pleased we were only doing the trip one way, others drove and put their cars on the MV Trinity to cruise back to Cairns, was a nice finish. I have upload a few of my photos and Sparky has added a comentary if any one wants to have a look.

I have now at last seen an EO Sticker on a car and the same group camped several times along the way near us. I went to visit a couple of times but missed them but Sparky managed to stop and say hi.

Hi Troopy,

Excellent photos. Last year we did the same trip, except we drove ourselves. We also put the paj on the Trinity Bay and came back to Cairns - what excellent food!!!

Your photos brought back some great memories.

Great Pics and good web page.
We drove both ways and did the island hop taking 4 weeks.
It's still an adventure just getting there.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

Hi Dodg, Just interested to know if you towed the van up or left it behind somewhere.

No mate , left the van at home.
I led a 4wd trip up there. It was a club trip with our local 4wd club.
Had a ball and did some great off roading.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.
