Has anyone tried to link an Etrex directly up to an IPAC PDA? Or should I not be cheap and go and buy a sleeve, or a bluetooth GPS? :o)

Cheers

Gday Paj

I have linked my 6 yr old Garmin Etrex to an IPAC HX4700 and it works a treat.

After internet search I used Johny Appleseed website www.ja-gps.com.au. (Best to ring their 1800 No and explain your connection requirement)

They supplied 2 cables to link together via a Ps2 connection (total cost $55 delivered to Perth in 3 days)
Cable goes from a 12v Cig lighter that splits to the Ipaq then to the Etrex ie: powers both units and links them together via the Ps2 connection.

Regards
OB

Gpsoz will also have a cable to suit, I've got one for my 12xl to Ipaq. Plugs into fag lighter, powers both units and connects data between them. Will also work on either 12 or 24v.

I connected my Magellan to an old HP Jornada pda. Tracking the serial cable took a bit of doing. Found what I wanted at expansys.com.au website. Took a while to get it but it works fine now
