GQ needs new suspension bushes. Rubber or neoprene?

Any luminaries out there who can give some advice on which way to go with fitting new suspension bushes?

I favour rubber bushes but am open to other comments. Have had a look at the Neoprene and they 'look' OK but I worry that they will settle in too hard and give the truck a harder ride.

I would hate to venture an opinion as a luminary, so I will have to give someone elses opinion and mention that I have been told neoprene does not flex as well as rubber and may limit your suspension articulation. If that matters to you.

I think genuine nissan rubber is the go. Seen noeprene bushes spit after 9 months plus they gave my vehicle a harsher ride.

Now that I have found and used my dictionary I can say that my neoprene bush's lasted 3 weeks before I put genuine toyota rubber ones back in.

Willem,
As others have mentioned rubber is the go, nolathane and other similars are harder, slightly less articulation, harder ride (road holding wise). I've used the nolathane bushes on the steering with great success, but not on the suspension. Cheaper as well, to boot.

Spot-on Martyn.

I've gone back to rubber in the suspension areas - urethane was too harsh, wore quickly because of mud/sand grit and felt "old" a month after installation. Expensive lesson......

Why not bronze greaseables???? Last forever (with service) and minimum wind up.

Willem,
Probably a little late with my opinion as you may have already chosen, but for what it is worth, here it is.
Four years ago i was going up to the Cape and other places up that way. After hearing about the roads i decided to upgrade the Tojo suspension.
1,600 oxford scholars later i had 8 leaves allround, greasable neoprene bushes on all hangers, new air shocks, new steering damper. I cracked an engine mount off the chassis rail at the top, got it welded and still there. Whether this was due to the stiffened suspension or the roads was anyones guess.
Since then i have been to Bathurst Bay twice and done the Qld outback once.
The neoprene bushes seem to give a harder ride when the ute is empty, but when loaded there is no difference. The old Tojo will be 20 next month. She is my only vehicle so gets used for everything.
Every service (5000) just hit them with the grease gun on the way round.

Does this posting make me a luminary as described in my Collins Gem.
Yours sincerely
Bros

How about Polyurethane.....as Neoprene is like wet suit material, wont do the GQ any good at all. lol sorry mate. Polyurethane is easier to get too.
but i am still searching

All the front and rear radius arm bushes, both sides

Nissan told me there were 8 bushes to a side. I counted 5. Maybe there are others in the kit.
