The Kimberley Kamper and others are now using LED strip lighting. It appears to be covered in plastic and is quite flexible. I have been doing a google search to try and source some of this strip in Australia, but it is proving more elusive than I thought. Has anyone actually made up any of this flexible LED strip lighting for their camper and if so, where did you get it, how much and how successfuly has it been?

I have a Kimberley (Not the new model with the LED Strip) I cannot remember their price, but was expensive. Like you I have been searching around for 2 or 3 months. Closest I can find is the 12 Volt Shop, but not the same .... Keep searching ........

Just got a reply from them. They come in 78mm units with 3 LEDs per unit. You can string up to 60 units together, but they cost $10.00 + GST for each unit. The KK interior LED would be roughly 5 feet, which is close enough to 1500mm. This means 20 units = $220.00 - WAY too dear. They also quoted for transformers, but surely you don't need them running off a 12V batter?

I have been thinking about getting the Jaycar LED strips for the camper trailer. Has anyone used them, if so how bright are they. I doubt they are bright enough to read by, are they bright enough for the kids to play in the camper. Are they too bright & everyone else see what is going on in the camper.
The ones I am talking about are Jaycar part No SL3950.

from Marty.
