go 3inch dumppipe right to the end... thats the bit out of the turbo itself.
or go twin stacks and 239048230498 clearance lights to be one of the wannabe truckies :P
But
yea apparently the larger dumppipe makes a difference

GOB, the dump pipe ia a cast piece right at the bottom of the turbo hosing. The factory one knecks down to 2 1/8" or there abouts. You will need a new one.

See if you can get a threaded collar welded on up near the dump pipe so you can fit a pyro (exhaust temp guage) before the exhaust is fitted. Easier and cheaper than once the exhaust is in place.

Steve, what is the range of systems from, what is there quality like, and do all the pipes have mufflers? Of course hearing the non muffled one is like music, nice and gruffff. LOL Perhaps I should call you.
Going to Jeffs Shed this weekend? Hope to be there on Saturday afternoon........

Steve,
I had the exhaust on my 4.2L GQ (Turbo) replaced about 6 years ago. Work done by a local mufler
shop, who suggested a very good design modification. He welded a bracket on the exhaust pipe in line with the bottom of the block and used a threaded stud hole in the bottom of the block to secure the lower section of the exhaust pipe. No stress or strain transmitted back to manifold or turbo. After the first bend he welded a 150mm flexible section, to which the balance of the exhaust system was fitted. The GQ's "shudder" when turned off, and the aim was to have the flexible section absorb the differential movement between body and engine when switched off. Six years down the track still solid as a rock. Cost $475 at the time.
Regards,
Greg
