Hey Kids

Have just purchased a milford cargo barrier off a very nice gent on the overlander/jackaroo forum. Came with all the mounting gear. Things to remember when buying one,
1. will your draw system fit in and not interfere with the barrier - yes thankfully
2. Will the fridge slide and "Fire and ICE" still fit in with the barrier - let you know tomorrow hahaha, but i think so
3. Do the seats back into correct position and can you un-latch them to fold the forward - yes.

So i have had a very successful installation. I didnt use all the mounting gear. Put the top mount into the rear handle with a stronger bolt, and down the bottom i cut out one little bar on each side and made a new bracket that wraps around the barrier and bolts down into an exsisting bolt hole.

Took less than 30 mins including making the brackets and cutting down the milford ones for the top.

love it when things work out.

What do you mean "put the topmount into the rear handle" like i don't have barrier and am keen to get one so do you mean you literally bolted it through the rear handle which doesn't sound right or it looped around the top rear handle ? sorry, just can't picture it, and on that subject, can you load a picture maybe ? What did you cut the milford with - hacksaw, plasma cutter (joking, just interested in the finer details), thanks.

Mate! I've seen this dude in action.

Everything is done with an airtool of some kind.

In this case I am guessing that he used an air chisel ( Maybe a jack hammer), and definitely air spanners that tighten up so fast that they strip threads leaving you contemplating WTF happened there.

And as for his 'special fastening device - superglue is his fetish/strength.

ps. how did the fire go in the over head consol...... hahahaha

Dear Porlsprado
I used the exsisting hand rail in the rear and mounted the metal bracket behind it and the rear bottom one, i made a new bracket

Ooooooooooooooo! I luv it when talk like that. (LOL)

Even though Crazie loves his airtools I have to admit that he has a very inventive, flexible mindset when it comes to mods on 4WD's.

Also, as he reminded me, a very helpful individual as a number of forum members, including myself, can attest to.

I have forgiven, but not forgotten that rattle gun stripping incident, and I do like your work on the Barrier mod, however I would have thought you could have painted it before posting a pic of it. (ROFLMAO)

Hi Pizzle,
I modified the brackets cause i have a draw system in and the bottom mounts with the long lenghts of metal are meant to be bolt to where i have my draws bolted down. The Top mounts are meant to have 3 holes drill on each side, the centre hole being big enough to fit the metal plate in the sim above the window. I didn't was to drill, so used the hole where the handle is.
Although this is not the proper way to do it. It suits me.

I have Ironman suspension and Run Cooper St's 265/75/16. Yeh It works well for the jack.Fully loaded I maintain a 50lift in the rear and about 40mm in front.
