Hi all, I know this is a wierd question to ask abunch of 4wdrivers but do any of you have any nautical charts you want to sell? We are taking a big road trip from
Perth to Qld and then whilst me and the kids take the long trip back, even longer because we plan to go through
Albany and up the coast, my hubby will be bringing around our yatch that we plan to live on and whislt that sounds like we just won lotto I can assure you we didn't so the $200.00 odd for each chart kida bites. so If you can help let me know. Thanks and good luck.

Hi, I don't know about the coastal areas of N.T. & Qsld, but you should be able to pick up charts of W.A. coastal area for an average of $25.00 each from the W.A. Government. More details can be found at this site : www.dpi.wa.gov.au/coastaldata/nauticalcharts Cheers.

Yes, that's about what I would pay for a paper chart. I think the $200.- is more likely for an electronic chart covering quite a large range of paper charts. Otherwise it sounds like a huge rip off for a single chart.

Are you talking about paper charts or electronic charts? If electronic, which format?

Laminated paper charts for
Brisbane waters are around $25 each. Most boat shops have them. Don't know about the electronic ones, just use the paper ones.
Also useful around Brisbane/Gold Coast/ Fraser Island is the
Beacon to
Beacon book that has anchorages, approaches, etc, etc Cost around $30 in most book and boat shops. Excellent book to be used with charts.

Some photocopy shops will sell you photopies of coastal charts at a fraction of the real cost. They usually stamp them "Not for navigation". Check with sailors in your local yacht club. They will advise you. Very common.
