Has anyone seen or made or heard of a 12v extension cord for a WAECO ( 80lt). I would like to run it 2mtrs from my C/T for short periods ( 24-36hrs). According to the instructions this is not advisable but I thought you inventive types may have a solution…
Cheers,
Brad..

Get some 2 core cable (Repco, etc). Cut the Waeco cable and solder/connect the new section on.
I have two 12 volt cables for my Waeco. One has the standard Waeco 12 volt fitting, the other a Narva type (much better when in the vehicle as it doesn't drop out).
Can't see why it is a problem as long as your connections, etc do not cause voltage drop. The 2 core is usually of an acceptable size not to cause this. The current cable is a metre or so long already!

go to your local auto electrician and buy 6mm2 twin core cable this is good 3-4m @3.5 AMPS 12V with buggerall voltage drop
if you can source the plug for the fridge if not just a good quality socket and plug your cord in
seeing your fridge has low voltage cut out it may cut out a little earlier than normal
due to voltage drop at startup
if you have a cord made that comes direct from the battery to the fridge lead it is no different to plugging into a socket in the rear of the 4wd it would be about the same distance
