Can anyone give us some facts on the 2005 Nissan Patrol Steel Bull Bars, The 2005 Nissan Patrol Bull Bar we are informed is manufactured by ARB, but its different to the one ARB sell direct to the public, and they tell us that the only winch that will fit it is the Warn 9000. Is this a fact or just a sales pitch. I have seen that Repco have a winch on special this month and was wondering anyone has fitted or tried to fit one to a Patrol with this bar.

Blaze,
As far as I am aware, any winch up to and including 9500Lb will fit with standard mounting holes. My T-Max 9500Lb winch bolted straight up to my Nissan steel bar.

Only a Warn winch up to 9,000lb will fit, the other chinese
winches up to 10,000lb will fit.
The motor on a warn 9,500 is to long with the fins!

You should tell your friends they need 2
winches. 1 at the front and 1 at the rear. Just in case there are any Mitsubishi Challengers around. LOL

Probably true Des Lexic,
That way at least the Nissan or for that matter Toyota could haul its own ass off
the beach forward or backward, when attached to the Mitsi. Don't see many Mitsi's with
winches on, probably because they don't get stuck :-)

Problem is that Mitsi's don't even get to
the beach let alone get stuck.

Yeah.. having just bought a new patrol and had to take the B'bar as it's part of the 'package' at the mo. Couldn't talk em into giving a discount but after much discussions with ARB. Yes they make em but they are slightly different.. the Nissan is slightly more laid back at the top so scrub bars wil lfit, but a little differently. I have a Winch In it too and it's not a Warn but I'm pretty sure it's made by Warn. B (9000) good luck..

Blaze,
The steel Nissan Bar has ARB stamped under together with serial number etc.
I have a 9000 Warn winch fitted to
mine and the limitations are in the length of the winch overall, as it fits between the chassis rails.
You could fit another winch as long as those sizes are the same and the mounting holes are the same (which I think they all are).
The Warn winch control box also fits perfectly in the area set for it.
As for the strength, I can assure you it is strong, I hit an EMU south of
Tibooburra at 100kms/h (didn't even give me time to put my foot on the brake) and the bar stood perfectly, only damage was the number plate, but I hit it head on right in the middle.
The powder coating could be better (in my opinion) but the bar itself is good.
