Jack fan
g'day all, looking to go upto torrumbarry on the murray to do some
water skiing
does anyone know were there are some good
camping spots on the river that not to many people would know about. And are there some easy to moderate 4wd tracks around the area that a standard jackaroo could tackle.
Thanks in Advance Tony

G'day Tony ,
I'm afraid you won't find any spots that people don't know about at the Torrumbarry Wier.
There is only really one spot that you can launch a ski boat without any difficulty & that's the
boat ramp that is situated upriver from the wier itself.
If you intend to go there at Xmas or
Easter DON'T, it's like a city, and it's dirty, dry and noisy. This time of the year is not to bad though and there should be a sparse
population.
If you intend to do a bit of fishing as
well, make sure that you have a N.S.W. fishing licence, as the N.S.W. fisheries take no prisoners.
As far as 4WDing goes, the only time you may need it is if it rains ( which I doubt)
All in all it's a great place so have fun but be "bloody carefull" as there has been a lot of lives lost on the river.
Hope Iv'e been a help & not a hinderance
Terry

I agree.
Everyone puts their boat in the
water at the Ramp , and then just drives it up to the
camp site.
Camp sites no one knows about . . . Lol . . . good luck.
PLENTY of
places to
camp , but, not a lot with facilities .. .BYO everything.
