Ok, I've read all the active and archive posts and searched through the internet. It seems that:
1. My LC would be cheaper to run on LPG OR
2. My LC wouldn't be much cheaper to run on LPG OR
3. LPG would maybe blow my motor up after 100,000 kms OR
4. The fairies and pixies will come and take me away....
The problem with the internet is that opinions and facts are difficult to seperate.
Has anybody got a LC100 4.5L and would like to advise me on:
1. Litres per 100km running costs - LPG v Petrol.
2. Where the tanks went (I like the idea of additional tanks under the sub frame rather than replacing my petrol tanks).
3. Any reliability problems.
4. Installation costs.
Thanks.

I have a 2000 model LC100 with LPG. To keep it brief. Do it.
About $3000, They take out your sub
tank, move your spare to a swing out rack on the back. Fuel economy is about 22 to 25 litres of LPG per 100klms. So about $10 per 100klms. I have been around this country twice with it and I'm going again next may. My speedo has just ticked over 162,000klms and no real problems. Only suggestion is to install an upper cylinder head lubricant.

Howdy, don't know if you got this reply to your earlier questions, I posted this today.
Hi Mike-TS, my 100 is indeed the 1FZ 4.5l, 24 valve, inline petrol six with the 5 speed manual.
My
tank is fitted at the back, replacing the original sub-
tank and spare tyre. It is approx 115l capacity and the filler is neatly concealed behind the factory fuel flap. This gives me 95l of PULP and 115l of LPG. 210l's of go-go juice in total....nice.
To acheive this, the spare needs to be relocated. I have a Kaymar bumper replacement bar with swing out wheel carrier, but there are a number of different options around to suit.
I also previously owned a 100 with the two cigar tanks mounted on the outside of both chassis rails. This setup was good and retained the two factory petrol tanks, but did have two drawbacks. One was the small LPG capacity (70l) and the other was reduced clearance for ramp over angles. I found myself driving a lot more tentatively off-road with this setup than the rear mount.
Fuel economy is soemthing I haven't worked out accurately yet. I have big boots on
mine, so the figures will be out anyway. I'd say 18l/100km's on PULP and 26l/100lm's on LPG would be a reasonable estimate.
Talk to a few gas fitters about the 4.5's. They can have a tendency to burn valves if not maintained I've been led to believe, but regular valve clearance checks should go a long way to avoiding this. I also run a drip feed upper cylinder lubricant too (Moreys).
Don't know the exact figures as I said, but I can say my 100 costs peanuts to run now compared to other rigs I've owned. It is also a pleasure to drive.
Hope this helps.

I had my 80 on gas , and it was cheap to run . 90 L LPG for 340 km city driving and some times up to 380 on hiways if there was no head wind. Even if gas is 50 cents a litre it still means that it cost you $45 to do a average of 350 kms so at the end of the day $ 90 gas will get you 700 kms . I have orderd my gas system for the 100 now , but i have a 12 week wait , the kit cost me $1600 + install around $2000. So I get economy that better than Diesel and the power of a petrol . After around 100k on gas , you way need to do valves may not , as above it depends on your maitenance
