With Christamas just around the corner I better find out which GPS is the one to put on the wishlist. Which features are important .

Don't apologise, electronic products change so frequently.

Anyhow, for what it is worth, I am very happy with a Mio,. which is a PDA and GPS.

I have an Ique m5 from Garmin and it is a PDA and GPS combined. Works a treat but expensive. Cost me $1175.00 but that included everything I needed to get me going.
I live in Bundaberg and it has been very accurate.
It uses windows pocket pc and has already crashed a few times but hey, what can you expect from Windows.
My only problem is I am addicted to a game on there called Jawbreaker. I play often.

Merry Christamas ;-)

If you are going Off road, eg: tracks between Broken Hill and Mildura, no standard GPS has them all shown. I use a 16ch Bluetooth GPS with a PDA running Oziexplorer, can't be beaten. Total cost with PDA from O/S (ebay) $700 approx.

If you aren't that worried about mapping then my wife has a Garmin Quest in her Car, pretty good map system, is portable, shows all major roads and most dirt roads, but big plus is it has voice command for town driving etc. She is from America and finds it the greatest for finding places in Towns and Cities. Cost about $1100. Guess it depends what you want.

Just had a look on E-bay. I can buy a Palm Tungsten for $340 and a Bluetooth GPS 16 ch for $120. Sounds good. Anything else I need?
That would be a cheap GPS and very easy to upgrade. Is there a downside somewhere I can't see?
