Don't you love paying 60k for a truck and not even getting map pockets?!! And a
seat designed by chiropracters to put their kids through private school.
Welcome to the wonderful world o aftermarket accessories... grossly inflated prices, for often crappily designed gear.
With that off my chest...I got an over head console running "across" ie left to right for $170. It's has a HF slot. It wasn't "outback" as they were about $250 for the same thing. Bolts onto the visor holes. I also got Stratos seats...but that's another story...
Cheers

Wheeltravel,
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the top shelf console from?

Kruzr,
Great stuff. You'll have a great time fitting it out. And nice to see you got the luxury version with chrome lights and map pockets :-))
I have a Barret set. The head unit sits nicely up top on an Outback top shelf, along with the UHF. The main unit is up high in the canopy, but most people will fit this behind the drivers
seat. Plenty of room there.
The big issue is the autotune, but I simply have
mine on the back of the canopy next to the spare. Seen some people make fold-down brackets on the bullbar, or swing out brackets from the headboard.
Cheers
Phil

Kruzr. I ran a piece of 1" flat between the inner front
seat bolts, then drilled and tapped for the fitment of remote head and speaker. Worked a treat for me and no overhead console required. I used longer bolts for the seats and had to pack up with 2 washers behind the flat so as not to crush the
seat mounting bracket. Tidy and functional. If you are in Melb you are welcome to have a look. Cheers
